Hello and welcome to the sale of a classic bit of Eastern Bloc history - a 1984 Trabant 601S. It is a truly superlative example, that has been fully resprayed and overhauled for huge sums of money by the previous owner. The car started off as an orange Trabant in Romania. It was a gift to a charity worker who bought it back to the UK in 2009 where he had it totally restored. In 2012 together with Classics Monthly he put it up as a raffle prize at the NEC (to raise more money for his charity) - And we won it!!! In our ownership it has been fantastic! We have had lots of fun in it, but we need the money, so it must go! The clock reads 16,000 Kilometres, but we think it has already gone around but its excellent condition will fool you into thinking it's only done 16,000 kilometres. We recently invested a large sum of money, getting our Trabant back to its deserved glory. Fixed all brakes and replace brake cylinders front and rear, repaired wiper linkage, added new drive shaft nuts on front axle and did welding repairs to chassis. Also passed MOT with no problems and no advisorys - now valid to February 2016.
