For sale one of my friend’s (he lives in Southern Spain) low mileage Euro spec LHD Peugeot 205 1.3 Rallyes. The car is now in Hertfordshire, fully UK road legal, with V5 in my name as first UK owner, all taxes paid, MOT'd (no advisories), taxed and insured and "on the road" ready for summer. It is in excellent all round condition, completely rust free and has never had any corrosion. • 71,000km / 42,000 miles • Spent its whole life in the middle of Spain in a hot and dry climate. • Original seats reupholstered in original spec material • High quality re-spray last year due to sun damage • New red carpet in excellent condition • Specialist tuned original twin webber 40’s DCOM • Mobil one 5w/50, recent oil change • Gearbox oil recently changed • New air filter and plugs • New Toyo tyres all round I personally drove this car 1,200 km from Southern Spain to Hertfordshire without it missing a beat, no rattles or clunks drives nicely - the induction roar from the twin 40s is addictive. Just in case you have not heard of these cars, below is a bit of background on what is a very rare in the UK. This is a Euro Spec (LHD only) 1.3 car with twin Webers - not to be confused with the UK spec 1.4 Rallyes which were basically a standard XS with a paint job and stickers: From 1988 to 1992 Peugeot produced the 205 1.3 Rallye, which was engineered and produced by the Peugeot-Talbot Sport (PTS) division as an alternative "hot hatch" to the GTI. Peugeot used a derivative of the TU-series engine used in the post-1987 205s, which was designated TU24. The engine is essentially a 1.1 bored out to a total engine displacement of 1294 cc, fitted with a sports camshaft and with the twin Weber carburetors it produced 103 PS (76 kW; 102 hp) at 6800 rpm. A close ratio gearbox meant progress was rapid. The car used the 1.6 GTI front suspension with ventilated brake discs, and the 1.6 GTI rear axle with drum brakes. To keep it lightweight PTS completely stripped the Rallye of almost all soundproofing, electrical systems or other luxury items, bringing down the weight to no more than 794 kg (1,750 lb). Its minimalistic equipment, together with the high revs needed to unleash all of the engine's horsepower gives the 205 1.3 Rallye a very spartan character and makes it a difficult, but rewarding, car to drive hard - one of the reasons it is now very popular among 205 GTI enthusiasts. These 1.3 Rallyes were only sold in certain mainland European markets and NOT the UK and only come in LHD.
