1973 VANDEN PLAS PRINCESS 1300 MK3. MANUAL. 35K MILES FROM NEW. FANTASTIC CAR. This lovely Vanden Plas Princess 1300 was first registered in Surrey 20th August 1973, and was one of the last Princess 1300 models produced. It was little used and garaged by the first owner who kept the car for 29 years, and was then sold to the second owner in 2002 by a Classic Car dealer at the Classic Car Show. The car had recorded only 26,000 miles. (Invoice of purchase in paperwork file). The car then went to live in Northern Ireland where again it was cherished, polished and garaged for the next 13 years, only going out on nice days and to classic car shows. The car covered approx 9,000 miles during this 13 year ownership, being maintained regardless of cost to stay in pristine condition. The third and latest owner purchased the car last year and drove it back from Holyhead Ferry Terminal to Kent. The condition of the car is very good having been Ziebart rust proof treated from new, with the Ziebart yellow plugs still fitted. This has meant that the panel work is all original - sills, door, wings, rear arches and floor panels. The car has original rear arches with no filler, and so are exactly how it left the factory. The underside is in excellent condition. The chrome bumper and over riders are in good condition, and the interior is in great condition. There is a roof aerial fitted and it has the only two factory optional extras, a Radiomobile radio and Eight Track unit, which has not been tried as the vendor doesn’t have any 8 track cassettes to play. Also it has a Hot Line Heated rear screen. The car is all original and NOT restored but has been re painted to a high standard in the original and rare Black Tulip colour before 2002. A new windscreen rubber has just been fitted by an expert screen company. The car drives very well and the twin carb. 1275 engine and 4 speed manual gearbox work very well with excellent oil pressure and a fair turn of speed. The interior is excellent with great headlining, damage free supple leather seats and door cards, lovely dark blue carpets reclining seats, inertia seat belts, twin folding walnut picnic tables in the seats and good walnut dashboard and door cappings. The car comes with some history with invoices, old tax discs and mot's, an original VDP owners handbook and wallet, original sales brochure and a Haynes manual. MOT'd till July and ready to go. 2 sets of keys. If you are looking for an outstanding example to own and cherish then this car is for you. You just don't find genuine cars like this very often, and is surely a good investment.
