A rather special Series 2 Vixen from 1969. This car is fitted with a 2.3 Litre Duratec engine taking it to around 230BHP. The previous owner had the car for 14 years and was meticulous with the upgrades to the engine, gearbox (type 9), drive train, braking and suspension. The car has recently been fitted with a custom stainless 4:2:1 exhaust manifold and this has further improved the performance. It has also had recent work which includes a replacement outrigger, new shock absorbers and a drive shaft - all carried out by a TVR Specialist. Further info on the upgrades made by the previous owner - compact, strong and light Ford Duratec power unit, with forged pistons and rods, Jenvey throttle bodies and Omex Ecu controlled engine management, said to produce 230bhp (unverified) and high levels of torque from idle speed. The lighter engine and 5 speed box, along with the polycarbonate rear screen brings the kerb weight down to around 650kgs and significantly improves the already predictable handling, assisted by a Ford quick rack, fully adjustable dampers and Avon 70 profile ZZR tyres. Drive train strength is enhanced by a stronger prop shaft, Quaife limited slip diff, competition spec quill shafts and strengthened rear uprights. Front braking is by Wilwood 4 pot calipers and vented discs and new rear drums/shoes/master cylinder/braided hoses. The final gearing gives easy high speed economical cruising, top speed said to be over 140mph and 60mph in first gear, in about 5 seconds. The car comes with 6 months MOT, historic vehicle tax (£0), receipts and lots of history, a laptop loaded with Omex ECU software, a spare set of Vixen alloy wheels and some boxes of Vixen and Duratec spares. The paintwork of this car is aged there are some stone chips and a couple of small scuffs, the interior shares the same aged look but both would be easy to address if the next owner want a more "restored" look.
