I’ve owned this 1989 Volvo 240 GL since summer 2016. It’s been a fantastic car and hasn’t let me down at all. It has been meticulously looked after in my ownership and wherever needed items repaired or replaced. The car is a 2 litre petrol 3 speed automatic with switchable overdrive. I have a lot of paperwork and history with the car as it has covered nearly 180k miles. Despite this mileage the car doesn’t show it at all. The engine pulls strongly and the gearbox shifts smoothly. It has a gearbox oil change every year with me. The bodywork has been repainted in red and it’s an average job in my opinion. It’s presentable and tidy but there are a couple of small areas that warrant mentioning. There is a patch on the roof about as big as a coke can that has blistered and cracked, there is a patch on the bonnet that has been polished back to primer. Other than that the car is solid. It has had some welding repairs by the previous owner, they’re good repairs but could have been done nearer but they’re not in obvious places. Below is a run down of all the repairs I’ve done in the time I’ve had it. - Water pump and gasket - Cambelt and tensioner - Fanbelt - New rear silencer and tail pipe - GLT coil springs - Brake master cylinder - Rear brake callipers - Brake pads all round - Battery It also gets regularly over-serviced every 12 months by myself. It’s got Volvo factory fitted floor mat/trays and dog guard. It does have heated seats although they do switch on the seats never seem to get warm so I assume the elements in the seats aren’t working. Everything else works like it should and it also has a Sony XPlod face off stereo with Bluetooth music streaming so it does have some modern cons. There’s probably loads I have forgotten to put on here so feel free to email me or better still go the old fashioned way and let’s have a conversation. I don’t really want to receive texts, in my experience people who text about cars are never normally serious. I’ve owned a few in my time and it’s always been the way. The car is priced fairly I think as these are appreciating slowly. This is a good used and not concourse example and as such priced the way it is.
