This glorious old lady came to me a year or so ago after a very long period of hibernation. The story goes that its owner died in 1978 and it was left in the charge of his son although never registered to him and probably not used either.Sadly the son apparently died in 1980 and his mother just left the car in the garage until a contact of mine sourced the car for me from the original owner's grandson .The log book had been lost in time so getting a new one was quite troublesome as it was not logged on the Dvla computer so they had to manually research their archives and also carry out an inspection of the car before issuing me with a v5 which i now have and shows me as the second owner of the car. I re motd the car last November where it passed with no advises and has done just 90 miles since then .Prior to the mot i did much recommissioning as you would expect including notably fitting a new timing belt kit. Undoubtedly the mileage is correct at just 27000 miles and having spoke to the Volvo owners club at last years Nec event it would appear it is one of two cars that would be close to being the lowest mileage one known to them. It is of course a very early example of the 2 series. It starts runs and drives lovely,it would benefit from stretching it's legs more often hence the sale. I am happy to take a part exchange but am not prepared to listen to any offers(it is advertised at the price it owes me and i will not sell for a loss). If unsold it can just rehibernate under a cover in my barn until somebody wants to become the new custodian of a true timewarp can that will only rise in price. You can see from the pictures it is in fine,if not perfect condition. The paintwork would appear to be the original.
