We are very happy to have on a commissioned sale this fantastic Mk II Interceptor. This is a concours winning car that has been much loved and nut and bolt restored by the current owner. Finished in Moorland Peat metallic (actually it’s a Renault colour but a very close match) with a lovely beige leather interior. The current owner has owned the car for the last 30 years and some years ago decided to do a complete rebuild. In the owner’s words, he thought that he had gone too far by leaving not a single nut untouched. The upshot was a truly stunning Interceptor that turned up to the 2013 Jensen International. Due to concours rules, the car wasn’t allowed to go straight into the Gold class and therefore that year it was the winner of the Silver class. Moving forward 12 months, the car entered the 2014 J.O.C. Concours event in the top Gold class where it won every available award, 1st place in Gold Class, the Presidents Cup, Best Interceptor, Chairman’s Choice and Member’s Choice Award. On the road the car behaves faultlessly, the power is smooth and quick due to the E series 6.3 litre engine – widely regarded as one of the best engines by Jensen enthusiasts. The gear change is refined, the brakes are superb, the fans kick in at the correct temperature, the oil pressure is rock steady and the handling is sublime. The exhaust is polished stainless steel, from the headers to the tips at the back, and the Rostyle wheels are in the (correct for a Mk II) mixture of chrome and paint. Much more has been done to this Interceptor than a very pretty paint job. The owner has systematically gone through every part of the car and the end result is the best Interceptor we have ever seen, and we get to see quite a few.
