Just after the legendary "Periscopica", one very short series of Countach, the so-called "low-body" LP400 S was built in Sant'Agata, with specifications very close to the first version. This LP400 S has the same engine, chassis and interior as the Periscopica, the only differences being the suspension & wheelarches to accomodate the new Pirelli P7, and some minor details. Thanks to the six 45 mm Weber carbs, the engine kept all its aggressiveness and the body shape retains the "low profile" body of the first Countach (hence the name "low body"), both due to the suspension setting, lower than later series, and to the bodywork itself, as low as the periscopic, and therefore about 5 cm. lower than later series. The LP400S "Low body" is recognized a true beauty and unmistrably more elegant and sleek than later "high-body" versions. This example, with trade-mark "Telephone" wheels, was first delivered in Italy to Achilli Motors, and is strikingly original, having been carefully garaged for several years without being used. The engine nevertheless starts immediately, and the general condition is very well preserved. Its two private owner-history is known, and following our policy of collecting the rarest Classic Lamborghini, we bought it immediately. Extremely rare on the market, the Countach Low Body is now the "second best" after the LP400 has recently reached 1 Million USD in the last auction.
